If there was an unlimited amount of everything and no death, would wars cease?

If there was an unlimited amount of everything, and we were all immortal, would we stop fighting each other in wars? There wouldn't really be anything to be pissed about at that point.

People usually fight over race because of crime stereotypes and killings of innocent people of a race, with everybody being immortal, there would be no killings of innocent people and no crime since we're all rich and have as much food, water, and land as we want. Stereotypes would probably be forgotten.

humans would just find another reason to be selfish , nothing you imagine would help this world to get better , even if everyone had everything they wanted to their minds would still develop that selfish barbaric feeling of wanting the best things for yourself ,love is what makes hate , more love will only cause more hatred, and with that progress that world would continue hmm

i really thought about everything i knew so far , and i realized nothing will make humans stop fighting each other, which is why religion is my only hope(heaven)

i lost faith in humanity long time ago.....

The best things in the world are subjective, with a world with an unlimited amount of everything, anybody can choose their own custom amount of things to have and they can choose what those things are. It would be a world of getting what you want without the hassle of doing things to get it. And with all of us being immortal, I think we would be smart enough to realize fighting an immortal person is stupid.

I can see it now " it's a good thing your immortal cause now I can torture u all I want". And yes a lot of people would think like that

The higher power should logically give up their position, seeing as their would be no winners in that fight. What would determine who's more powerful in a hypothetical world like I mentioned? Money doesn't matter anymore, neither does food. If I changed my original post to everybody gets whatever item they want the second they think it, would that change your mind?

Adolf Hitler

Granted that immortality would be an obstacle that someone like him would have to overcome, but that can definitely be dealt with.

Gonna find my own island Robinson Crusoe style then, if there's an abundance of everything.

I edited that reply to people get whatever item they want the second they think it. I'm starting to think you're right though, if I changed my hypothetical world to everybody has immortality, whatever amount of items and land they want, and they have teleportation, would that make the world not torture/fight each other? With teleportation added, anybody can get out of any torture situation.

No clue
I've read multiple things on how his grandmother and his first love interest were Jewish, and how he believed that the Aryans were the master race, yet he had dark hair. What I do know for sure is that while he was one of the craziest mother effers out there, he was also one of the smartest, and with his strong dislike of any race excluding Aryans, he would stop at nothing until his goal was achieved (eradicating/enslaving all inferior peoples). There most likely will be another Hitler eventually. Hell there might be another one right now rising up the ranks.

weren't we smart enough to know that a child can never harm a tank? weren't we smart enough to realize that another person opinion would never harm us?weren't we smart enough to realize killing a criminal would just make us criminals also?
the right answer is no , even tho we had intelligence we never realized such simple things.....

and the fact that all the good things in the world are subjective itself shows that humans are selfish.

I see your points now, I guess we're screwed. But, would there be less war, more war, or about the same amount in this hypothetical world?

Seeing as most wars are fought over religion, and/or resources. I highly doubt the fighting would cease. Not to mention the fact that with no one dying we would eventually run out of space on earth, and would need to...
A) Find a way to kill one another, so that we could limit the population.
B)Seek to expand to space, and take our bs and wars with us out there.

Humans are naturally aggressive, and territorial. Which is what led us to become what we are today.

Call of Duty would suggest otherwise.

We'd 'kill' each other for sport.

Wars aren't just fought over resources. Wars are fought over who -controls- those resources. Thus, to understand wars, one has to understand how people decide if they are not one of the people with influence over the resource and how desperate they are for that resource. To understand how desperate they are for that resource - you have to understand their ideology.

Thus, wars are mostly ideological based on who we believe we are and what we believe we are entitled to.

If you want to get religious - the Bible (and many other early civilizations) speak of angels -or divine beings- who lived in perfect harmony until one of them (who was called a deceiver and accuser) prompted a war in the heavens.

Wars will not cease simply because of plenty and immortality. This is because wars are largely a conflict of ideologies and cultural identities.
