if the uzumakis were so strong how did they get wiped out?

if they were feared by there strong sealing jutsu's and were descendent relatives of the senjus, they got to be one of the strongest clans in the manga. who could have been strong enough to wipe them out, i think the uchiha's had something to do with it idk just a theory what do you guys think

Anway, i think it has to do with the fact their the sages original bloodline and madara snuffed them out.

Basically this, the Uzumaki's were a very small village, and another thing the Uchiha were strong and yet they were wiped out all because of plot and don't say it's cause Itachi and Obito were the strongest of the Uchiha at that time.
