If Shino joined Shikamaru to rescue Sasuke, what would have happened?

Shikamaru, Naruto, Neji, Choji, Kiba were not able to rescue Sasuke from the Sound five who probably got defeated by Gaara, Kankuro and Temari while Neji and Choji was able to beat Kidomaru and Jirobo alone.

According to Shikamaru's plan, it didn't go well so Naruto went ahead alone against Sasuke but got interrupted by Kimimaro in front of him. However until Lee did show up, everything didn't change either until Gaara showed up.

So, if Shino was there, then would they have managed to rescue Sasuke?

Give me a reason....

He and Naruto would have faced Kimi together but Kimi would have still been too strong and Sasuke would have still completed his CS2 development and escaped.

Well that would've altered everything. The most favorable outcome would be Shino & Gaara taking on Kimimaro (especialyl seeing as they could actually work together) and then having Lee help Naruto vs Sauske, which would be enough to triumph.

Even though it's pointless, you can't force someone to stay in the leaf lol

Kimmimaro > Shino. Shino has nothing on Kimmimqro's speed and his bugs would probably die after eating Curse Mark chakra. He could try to outlast him though but I don't know if he could keep that up until Kimmimaro's disease kills him.

If Shino's bugs could successfully drain Curse Mark chakra, he could probably beat Jirobo due to clever bug clone tactics and chakra draining, Tayuya by having the bugs snap him out of any genjutsu, Sakon as he relies on physical attacks Shino will more than likely have a chance to land a female bug on him. He'd lose to Kimmimaro and Kidoumaru though.

Kimi was soloing that battle, adding Shino wouldn't change much even if his bugs could drain curse mark chakra and stuff. I think he would have held them off for long enough to enable Sasuke's escape.

While the events would have all happened the same, it would end up with Kimimaro vs Lee & Gaara & Shino.

Gaara would tell them both that they're in the way, and they'd both sit on their ass. Doubt they'd pursue Naruto and Sasuke, since Gaara and Lee originally didn't.

Let's assume everything stays the same up to when lee shows up. Instead of Naruto chasing after Sasuke, Naruto and Shino chase after Sasuke.

Shino would be able to capture exhausted Sasuke.
