To OP: Madara might notice that Sasuke has the potential to surpass him, so instead of demolishing him in ten seconds flat and throwing him in the trash bin it would be a fight to awaken his full Mangekyou powers so that he can have some fun before he ends the world. ( but since he's focused on Hashirama's wood right now, this might just be unlikely )
