Somebody a day or so ago did propose that Sasuke might be trying to pull an Itachi. I sort of agree as far as the fight having similarities to the Itachi encounter. I think the fight isn't just a VOTE 2.0, but also Sasuke vs Itachi 2.0. After the Itachi fight, Sasuke's hate was transformed. I don't know how Naruto and Sasuke can recreate that fight again without either of them dying though.

I think that if Sasuke can manage to break the curse, the ghosts of Ashura and Indra will have no reason anymore to linger. The reason for their reincarnating could solely be because they are so determined to continue with their feud. If Naruto and Sasuke can end it, that's it.

Sasuke isn't the martyr type. There's no way he would throw the fight.

Feuds don't end with one side's victory, especially with the reincarnation problem that wouldn't even permit a truce if one side was annihilated.

The only thing to end it is agreement between the sides.
