-so hiting naruto strong with amaterass helped disperse the black flames.....

Using chidori would have only suceeded in Sasuke loosing his arm. Fuuton>Raiton Amateratsu was the best choice as Katon>Fuuton. It only ended in a stalemate because Naruto's basic Rasengan = Sasuke last ditch Kagutsuchi.

Sasuke made the right call...besides...

...Perhaps he didn't have enough chakra left to pull of any other jutsu than Kagutsuchi.

Sasuke's goal was to win the fight he started and begin his revolution he lost on both accounts
Naruto's ideology came through in the end as it always does.

Naruto won,he didn't have to win the psychical fight to have it happen and if you can't understand that then you fail to see the long running themes of the series

But the Rasengan that was used was just a Kyuubi enhanced Rasengan, it had no Fuuton properties like RS since Rasengan is just shape manipulation on a high level.

I honestly believe that Enton was just a plot device for the two to get their arms blown off. I don't see how Enton would have helped Sasuke in that situation. I feel like he should have attempted a bigger Chidori too. Then it would have been a stalemate but with their arms most likely intact.
