Doesn't it make sense for him to gain it when their lives approach their ends? It's not like NV will keep popping out Rikudo Level brawlers to defend the earth. Even EMS Madara and Hashirama were anomalies.

power? sasuke cant create a world on his own , you need two people one that guides the light and another to guide the darkness. if sasuke was to pave the world alone the world would be in hell fire and mindless fools. unless sasuke leaves the planet and only comes to save the world from god lvl threats but even then the world would then be sheep without thier shepherd

I see what you're saying, but the world needs to learn to defend itself. Humanity can't really progress if they always rely on one guy to fight their battles for them. The truth is, shinobi are already too weak as it is in comparison to Naruto and Sasuke.
I mean, just look at the gokages performance against Momoshiki. Pathetic!
How is it that even base Naruto is so much superior to them in even basic taijutsu?! Sasuke is understandable since he has sharingan and rinnegan, so there is precog involved. He also has choku tomoe which apparently grants swift movement as stated by Madara.
What is the excuse with base Naruto though? He wasn't in sage mode. He wasn't using Kurama's power or rikudou power. Yet even in base he still managed to put up more of a fight against Momoshiki before going into his mode.
My point is:
The world, in some sense, could actually use the absence of Naruto and Sasuke. That way, they will be pressured to progress on their own instead of relying on the local guy with the super eyes or the local jinchuuriki.

Realistically speaking, progress isn't met just because the bar is higher. Ninja were already fighting for their own secluded worlds(clans) to continue existing in the warring states, and we see that the best that pressure put out was EMS Madara and Hashirama. I guess they could progress in regards to technology though. If Zetsu could prove a threat, imagine a bunch of fodders equipped with ninja tools.

i think it just goes way deeper than that? indifference, fear , and love are usually the forces that drive the wills of people into doing wht they do. even with a power house / extrovert leader like hash/ naruto people free will will not change , its just the simple truth, people are driven by personal intent. just like what sasuke said the nations only stand as one because of a similar goal but soon feeling will become history. the answer to live life is unknown even if they know that a afterlife exist and the can summon giant toads/rock walls.

Your argument can only work if you believe clansmen didn't love the other members or fear for their safety in a time of endless war. There was definitely an existential threat against them all. The only difference in the current scenario is that the enemy is stronger(the bar) & that there's more shinobi(teamwork) to fend off the threat. I don't believe Sasuke would stop informing kages of coming threats just because he's immortal either, so the reality of the situation isn't something that would fade with a living legend to attest for it. Just him showing up fashionably late & letting the kages get beat on should send a clear message.
That makes sense too.

Sasuke believes in teamwork now & we've seen that that doesn't work as of now after the Kages performance.

Is Boruto becoming the new guardian really any different from Sasuke himself remaining the sole protector? Sasuke seems to have submitted to Naruto's ideals & those are of teamwork. Even Boruto seems to be on the same path of teamwork.

that not a good example because many good ninja died during that period madara and hashirama and his brother were basically the only ones that lived that were able to make a name for themselves

How does he gain Immortality at the cost of Naruto's life? If he tries to become juubi Jin Kaguya would just revive. Are you sure Sasuke wasn't just talking out his ass with the immortality thing.

That would require Naruto's permission, and he probably wouldn't allow it, thinking that Sasuke has lost a wiring in his head again. And who knows whether Sasuke would continue being the same Sasuke after achieving near-immortality after the obtainment. There's the saying, ''You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain." and it's highly possible Sasuke could lose his sense of being or suffer detachment/disconnection from the world from being immortalized so long and turn to evil ways to satiate his longness for entertainment. Gods are known for being apathetic and not really regarding the people's wellbeing if a cause can be met, and this attribute can befall him.

Not leaving things up to the new gen is exactly where Madara failed in.

sasukes idea of shinobi is guts and endurance but Naruto feels that the way life has evolved and changed its almost like people don't really need ninjas anymore or rather ninja have become soft and too millennial like (entitled, lazy, self absorbed),tbh its kinda true bourto gen is really fucken peacefully, economy is good, crime is shit, and the internet is a wild thing.
