If Orochimaru wants immortality

Technically it's better off than what he's going for now. At best he still only lives a normal lifespan before switching. With uzumaki bodies, he gets slightly longer before switching.

Actually, if the body is strong enough, Orochimaru can live a full life cycle. But if they're fodders, his power corrupts and destroys the body prematurely. That's why he chose to train Sasuke for 3 years.

He needs an Uchiha body to function properly with the Sharingan. Recall Itachi vs Kakashi? The latter could barely keep up with the real Uchiha.​
