Couldn't he have just kidnapped a young uchiha boy before the massacre? I'm sure that within the realm of possibility of him doing...perhaps, making a deal with danzo?

Or at least steal some eyes of the dead Uchiha?

who knows that he wanted want before the massacre, it was like 10+ years ago he was early 40's. He didn't even want an uchiha until he saw Itachi. After seeing itachi he wanted not just an uchiha but a "true uchiha" like itachi or sasuke (that blood line), so.. yeah

I think it wasn't that simple. I imagine sauke is special in his abilities and skills and there is a reason Oro considers him the perfect vessel other than just being an uchiha

Remember that Orochimaru was going to kill a paralyzed young Sasuke with a kunai in the Forest of Death. It wasn't until Orochimaru commented on sasuke's abilities and how he is truly a brother of Itachi that he cared to give him the Curse Mark.

exactly....orochimaru wanted an uchiha ever since itachi was like 10(give or take a few) so it would've been possible for him to get an uchiha during the massacre...but the real reason he didnt is because, IMO he wanted the sharingan from a talented uchiha...not some random uchiha...

Yeah I suppose that makes sense. It's been a while since I remember Orochimaru first being interested in it. All I know now is that he's obsessed with the Uchiha.

1. Itachi made sure they killed EVERYONE except Sasuke. Oro wouldnt have had a chance to save anyone unless HE KNEW IT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN.

2. Tobito stole all the eyes. Tobito would not have allowed anyone to take any eyes, I assume he gave those to Danzo.

He wanted not just Uchiha but a powerful Uchiha(Itachi) or one with inner power(sasuke). The eyes are sh*t without the body because he may not be able to use them for their full potential. Even kabuto said he needed a live Uchiha for his work
