My theory is that he just wants it in order to gain the rinnegan, but after that he really has nothing more to do except perhaps go and try do "infinite tsukuyomi" himself.

the only problem is that Madara's current body, is an edo body....not his real body

Obito has one of the highest chakra levels......he's not even tired and he's been fighting for a large amount of chapters, and was able to control the gedo/bijuu as well.

and he never tried to revive Madara....he said Nagato's purpose was for his own sake, not Madara's
