FTG allowed Minato to deal with multiple problems quite efficiently - therefore I believe Shinobi's without FTG would've really struggled and thus, the village would've been greatly damaged had Minato been absent or replaced with any other shinobi.
Well something like that is pretty important to prepare for, but this is a what if thread. For the sake of it Hiruzen was in the same position Minato was in.
I know we have not seen much from Hiruzen, but he was named God of Shinobi. His jutsu arsenal must be huge don't underestimate him. He also has more experience than the 4th.
Kakashi has a lot more experience than Naruto >.>
Experience is great factor but it's not a game changer in such situation.
The only way to overthrow Tobi is speed ( FTG ) or over 5 minutes of non-stop attacks ( 6billions paper bomb technique )
Hiruzen doesn't have the former, and the latter would have been canceled by Izanagi.
Experience helps you make good decisions. This is also not just a battle between Hiruzen and Tobi. It's the whole village
It has not been proven that Tobi even had izanagi at the time. We don't even know where he got it from
I agree. A good question would be if Minato wasen't there would the village be destroyed beyond repair or would it be like the Pein attack
