I've been reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King (a great read btw) and in the story the main character (SPOILER ALERT for those who would like to read) nearly goes mad because he is aware of two realities.
In the true reality he allowed a boy to die while in pursuit of a long time enemy, and yet in when he goes to another when in our reality he saves the boy from being killed and thus from entering his own world where he is allowed to die once more.
Because of these two conflicting truths he experiences his mind tearing in two because it knows that both of these things happened and yet he can not reconcile between them because he has caused a paradox (the only way the boy could die in his world is to die in our reality, yet because he goes into a past version of our reality he saves the boy and so could not have met him and thus allowed him to die even though he has already done so).

The point I'm getting at is, if Obito were to do Infinite Tsukuyomi wouldn't he cause his mind to split because of the paradox he himself created by both witnessing her death while at the same time creating a world where she has never died?
I think Madara is aware of this fact and doesn't mind sacrificing Obito's sanity for his own personal gain.
And what's more, wouldn't Kakashi's mind be ripped apart at the seams because subconsciously he knows Ri is dead yet while in the illusion he never delivered the blow that took her life?
What do you guys think?

Yeah but the dual knowledge of two truths which vie one with another should in theory drive him mad.
