Seriously, think about this logically, what the hell, does he need from Sasuke? Obviously he was grooming him for a role is an rational response, but I am not seeing it. He wouldn't have just given an enemy his brothers eyes, giving him a stronger sharingan than Obito. It just doesn't make sense.

the situation Obito was facing was give Sasuke EMS or Sasuke leaves. If Sasuke leaves, then he can't use him anymore. If Obito takes out Sasuke's eyes and leaves, then Sasuke is no longer of any use. If Obito gives him the eyes, presumably Sasuke will fight for Obito because he's grateful. It's better than zero change of Sasuke fighting for Obito. You're assuming Obito knew Sasuke was going to be an enemy. this a bad assumption. Up to that point Sasuke had done what Obito had said. He attacked Bee. He attack the Five Kage. Obito had no way of predicting Sasuke would run into Itachi, fight with Itachi, seek out answers from the Hokage who he didn't know could be brought back and then come to the battlefield for the Alliance.

I don't see what the tree has to do with Sasuke or how Obito could know about. Sasuke was born 100s of years after the tree, why would the tree care about Sasuke in particular enough for Obito to give him EMS.

The reason that's complete bullshit, is because at this point Obito already had his victory planned out. And he could and DID do it without Sasuke.

Obito isn't Naruto, he's cunning, intelligent, and psychologically disturbed to a degree, but he is a smart person. He wouldn't take unneeded risks or less effective strategies, until that is he knew e had victory, then he would do things to get emotions out of them, but that is only because he saw no way he could lose. He had no chance at knowing that Madara would possess him, he thought he had won.

If didn't give him EMS, guess what happens. 100%: Sasuke becomes Obito's enemy. gives him EMS: there's a chance Sasuke will remain loyal. It was a calculated risk that did not pay off. I didn't say Obito was Naruto. Don't put words into my mouth to further your argument.
Moreover, having Sasuke on the battlefield would be useful. Yes, he summoned the tree without Sasuke but it would be easier to hold back the entire SA back with Sasuke help. Just because he could do it without Sasuke doesn't mean he wanted to do without Sasuke. He saw Sasuke wasn't on his side and did it himself anyway. Just because you could do something yourself, doesn't mean you don't want pawns to help.
He wasn't using Sasuke before because Sasuke was recovering from the surgery. You are suggesting that because Sasuke wasn't used yet, then Obito had no plans to use Sasuke? this logic is horrible.

okay, that's actually a valid critique but still Obito took a calculated risk that did not pay off.

take Sasuke's eyes: Sasuke is useless. Obito could do IT without Sasuke but there's risk with fighting the entire world. So it'll be a good idea to have another Uchiha loyal to you. Obito weighed these two risks. He could use Sasuke's help but Sasuke could turn on him. and he decided it was worth it because Sasuke had been loyal. he talked about not being loyal but he always did what Obito said. attack Killer Bee. attack the 5 Kage. Obito sees the risk of Sasuke's betrayal but Sasuke has shown no evidence of turning. you're acting as if it's a 100% chance of Sasuke turning. Obito did not see this. He weighed his options (risk of giving Sasuke power, risk of raging war against everyone where one more Uchiha could come in handy) and he concluded Sasuke would remain loyal and be useful in the war, so he gave him the eyes.

give him eyes: there's a small chance of Sasuke turning on Obito but a great chance Obito will need when him when he declared world war. the war risk is even greater because Obito is not sure of Kabuto. with all of these risks, Obito thought he needed a powerful ally that he had calculated wouldn't betray him

had Obito been an idiot in the past: dear God yes. Failing to kidnap Naruto in the Land of Iron, failing to send Kisame to kidnap Killer Bee and avoid war in the first place, telling the Five Kage he was coming. However, in this case, Obito was actually logical. he took a calculated risk that did not pay off.

I read the OP a while ago. I didn't reread it every time I replied. I was replying to your reply, not the OP. I just acknowledged your opinion was valid, and you accuse me not understanding your opinion. what? Previously, I did not see your idea was valid because you did not adequately explain it. when you explained it that post I replied to, I understood your argument and it was valid. Thus, I acknowledged that.
