1) Do you think that if he awakened the mangekyo sharingan he would have gone on to become hokage?
2) Would the Uchiha still have gone on with the coup had Obito not attacked the village?
3) If the answer to 2 is yes, which side would he have chosen? Konoha or the Uchiha?

1. No Uchiha will ever be Hokage.

2. Maybe not. They were blamed for the attack, and apparently that caused a rift between the village and the Uchiha clan. Fugaku, out of spite, conspired a coup d'etat that would allow the Uchiha clan to take control of the village.

3. If it would've happened, he'd choose the leaf village. He won't abandon his friends of Konoha. His dream was to crush the current view of shinobi, which defined shinobi as emotionless weapons. He cared for the Ninja world. He wouldn't agree to it.
