I don't see him having another purpose if he goes good, he would probably end up sacrificing himself to stop Madara or stop the Gedo Mazo and save Naruto and Co. It would be nice, but he's lost Rin and probably want's to join her in the after life anyways.

He would probably find out that Madara tricked him in some way because that is the only way he would turn evil in the first place. He will find that out and when Madara is about to kill Kakashi or Naruto he will sacrifice himself to save them, Madara will comment how pathetic of him to betray Madara. At least that is the most common thing that could happen... :L

There's always a chance. Though It might not be the logical option, because Obito has done some pretty messed up things that he can't easily redeem himself for, like Nagato, without dying. Unless Naruto and co decide to keep his identity a secret, or Obito is being mind controlled after all, I don't see it working.

I'll admit, it did cross my mind... If he's gonna turn good after all, how would things look like if he walked out alive.
