If Neji was the third member of Team 7

Neji should've been the third member of Team 7

• it would've made his death more significant.... it would've set up the whole Ootsuki origin due to Hamura and Kaguya
  
• a Uzumaki, Uchiha, and Hyuga team is basically 3/4 main clans
  
• they could still do the Lee and Neji rivarly were Neji doesn't find Lee to be great but later sees him and his Gates
  
• Neji and Lee both could've gotten nice powerups due to being close to main character status
  
• NH would've gotten and even more robust relationship
  
• Naruto changing the Hyuuga would've even been more developed

I mean look Zabuza arc Neji can see through the fog and is taken down first due to his ability
two geniues in the same team were Naruto feels inferior
Not much is known about Neji and thus gives his backstory more impact.... Naruto learning the truth would make that Chunin fight all more sweet

some plot holes for Oostuki could be addressed

the list goes on and on

in the beginning sure (even though her character personality was left to be much desired) but throughout the series we didn't need all that whinning as one of the main plot devices

she had a ton of screen time but barely did anything progressive with it.... hence her being placed to the side for Neji would've made more sense

That and Neji being a ass in the beginning actually had a reason relative to us just finding out that Sakura was just a ass for the sake of being a ass

what are you talking about

Sakura is a namless Haruno while Neji was called a genius..... had a good backstory and plot device about freedom and is a Hyuuga which could've been used to explain more about the Oostuuki

he could've also got some powerup due to his lineage


while Sakura could've accomplished what she is now with 1/10th the panel time


wasted space/opportunity

would've made the story way more organized

If kishimoto had advanced sakura with her genjutsu and ninjutsu this wouldn't be an issue. She was ignored.

It would also make Neji almost dying for Sasuke's sake during the Kidomaru fight that much more impactful. He could also become roughly equal to Naruto and Sasuke if he was a Hamura transmigrant. His importance to the story wouldn't be as great as it is for the rest of Team 7 tho.
