I'll start off this thread by saying yes, I am a firm believer that Naruto will unlock the Rinnegan, as it makes perfect sense.
With the recent chapters clearing up where chakra originates from, Naruto unlocking the Rinnegan seems even more likely, why?
I'll start with this Manga scan:
Naruto initially has chakras from 7 tailed beasts, excluding the Hachibi and Ichibi.. and Naruto has displayed no use of the chakra he received since obtaining them. This ties into the fruit.
I believe Naruto will split the fruit with Sasuke. Kishimoto wants to portray Naruto and Sasuke as somewhat equals in the end, and Naruto eating all of the fruit would make their final fight (if it happens) very dull, as it would be a stomp.
The fruit originates from the God Tree which is the progenitor of all chakra that exists in the shinobi world. The God Tree is the formation of all 9 Biju's into one supreme being.
If Naruto were to eat half the fruit, I believe that Naruto would obtain more than enough God Tree chakra that he is missing (Hachibi and Ichibi), to unlock the Rinnegan, the highest form of Dojutsu.
The reason Sasuke wouldn't unlock this is because he lacks the Biju's chakra that Naruto received, but it might boost the time it takes for his EMS to mature into Rinnegan, which would also be very plausible.
