If Naruto or Kurama die what happens to the other?

Kurama can't die.

If Naruto dies, Kurama will briefly die with him, but later respawn and re appear somewhere else.

Naruto can actually have a "real" death.

Kurama more or less just "goes to sleep". It's what happened when Naruto fought Sasuke towards the end of the manga. Kurama eventually revives. Tailed Beasts are immortal, they eventually come back. Also, if a Jinchuuriki dies, the Bijuu "goes to sleep" with them, but eventually revives.

I would assume that if Kurama was trapped inside Naruto and Naruto died, so too would Kurama.
But if Kurama was out of Naruto, and Kurama died I dont think Naruto would die from that; as its more likely that he would die from Kurama being removed from him.

Normally, Bijus cannot die permanently - they just reform after some time, so even if Kurama dies with Naruto that won't matter. It's a tradition in the NV that before a Jinchuriki's death, the Biju inside him/her is sealed in another person, who becomes the new vessel, and that repeats for generations, so Kurama will probably be sealed in someone before Naruto dies, or who knows - he might me set free.
