That was only because it was half of kurama. In my opinion, actual kurama would've been more effective, keeping that perfect jinchuriki sinc in.

he'd have almost certainly died to Gaara when the sand village attacked konoha. the only bijuu that has claws other than kurama is matatabi (2 tails) so he wouldnt be able to think of a animal with claws to transform into. shukaku would have destroyed konoha, and everyone would be dead.

No, otherwise Kyubi wouldn't be bound to him anymore, that seal is the only thing keeping Kyubi inside of him
