Well, first things first:
This will be a long post, and I hope to be able to speak to minority of users around here who are actually not 10 years old fanboys. I want to DISCUSS things out, so I wouldn't mind if you all kept your flame to yourselves.
I can't even describe how much I just don't care about Naru-Hina-Suke-Crap-Saku-Ino-Jiraya, and as always I also don't care how many facts you want to come up with why Itachi is stronger than Minato or the other way around.
I really like it's Kishi's story, and I'd like to talk about one particular thing mentioned in this weeks (IMO great) chapter with the people, that don't delude theirselves because they're not satisfied with anything.
So all I'm gonna say about that crap would be:
Wether or not one is stronger than another you can barely tell because, considering most people didn't fight each other. I'm not talking about obvious things like the fact, that you don't need to have Temari fighting Madara to know who'd win. Hell, we don't even know how strong Kakashi is and where he'd be in an official ranking, so why not just quiet up about this and stop trying to let fictional characters acting for your own ego.
SOOOO now that we've gone through this, let's get back to the topic:
What if Naruto does NOT become the Hokage?
I've seen most people have almost ignored Sasuke's objective to become Hokage, saying it's completely random.
Personally, I think it's the most reasonable decision he has EVER made in the entire series. It's the first time he actually makes sense. It's the only way to change the System without destroying what his brother was trying to protect with his life.
Also, this decision is what makes another Naruto vs Sasuke in the valley actually possible. I've been kind of dissapointed with Sasuke's decision at first, to rejoin the leaf so "easily" after he was even so determined to kill his friends (and was even on the verge of murdering Sakura) but it seems as if he really put some DECENT thought into this.
And now the big "problem": Will Naruto be Hokage at the end?
Most of you will now probably say "Sure...this is the point of the whole Manga, isn't it?"
Well, I'm pretty sure, even though most of you think this is true, most of you are fearing that in the end he won't be Hokage, right?
Well, to be honest: I even think this is exactly what will happen. I think it is highly possible that Naruto won't be Hokage in the end, and I even think it would make a GOOD ENDING?
No, I am NOT a Sasuke Fanboy (you could have guessed it from what I said about him earlier). My point lies in what Itachi said:
"It's not that the one who becomes Hokage will be acknowledged by everyone. It's the one acknowledged by everyone who becomes Hokage."
So, that seems like a major backfire on my prediction, right? Now, let me explain:
What Naruto has been trying to achieve was to be acknowledged by everyone, which is why he wanted to become Hokage. He did not want to change, or rule, or anything, he just wanted to be acknowledged.
And we all can agree on the fact that he pretty much achieved that one already, right?
Saying that, I think that Naruto recognizing that he already achieved this goal, without him needing to become Hokage anymore would be a sign of a MAJOR character development and growth of his side. And with that, that little fictional character has already grown and developed more than most people here on Narutobase that denying the possibility of him NOT becoming Hokage.
Obviosuly, I won't judge anyone if he does end up as Hokage. Naruto is not my story, and I (unlike many other people as it seems) can enjoy it. Seriously, in the chapter discussions, sometimes it seems like some people LIVE in the Universe and don't want anything in "their world" changed.
(Aren't there enough crappy RPGs for that?)
Well, what do you think about Sasuke becoming Hokage and Naruto "giving up" on his dream?
