If Naruto beat Sasuke in part 1

I never understood Naruto's thinking in part 1. Let's say that he won the fight and brought Sasuke back to the village; then what? That would probably make him want to leave even more, so what were they going to do? Lock him up in prison against his own will? It's not like he really committed a crime back then so they couldn't really do that.

Becoming a missing nin is a crime. So Konoha did have grounds to punish him...he'd have probably gotten the treatment the Konoha elders intended to give to Naruto...ie Jinchuuriki treatment kept inside the village at all times. Possibly also give him some type of seal to keep him from try to run again. His growth would be intentionally limited due to him being a flight risk.

though he'd probably be treated worse than Sakumo Hatake by the villagers, being a confirmed traitor...add in the fact that it was around the time the villagers started recognizing Naruto(after fighting Gaara) and Sasuke wouldn't fair too well...

Very true. Another reason why Sasuke wanted to leave was because he was becoming jealous of Naruto, at a very unhealthly level. You could defintely see it during the Gaara fight, and when Itachi came he lost it.

OP: Sasuke had to win because of plot, he needed to go to Orochimaru for Part 2. Otherwise, they would of stalemated.

I don't really understand Kishimoto's logic, Naruto apparently never trained with the Kyuubi during Part 2, but started showcasing more tails :l. I hate Jinchuriki to begin with, I wish Naruto followed in his father's footsteps with FTG.

Jiraiya would train Sasuke and Naruto thanks to some persuasion done by Naruto himself. Or he'd be train harder with Kakashi. Alot of scenarios, alot of whatifs etc

According to the standards of logic in this manga :

- If he stayed, Orochimaru would have invaded Konoha again only to kidnap Sasuke,
- Then Sasuke awakens MS after killing an innocent Karin/Juugo and kills Oro with the help of Itachi in the shadows.
- Then before he fights Itachi he will discover the truth about Danzo then together they will Amaterasu his body while he is under Tsukuyomi.
- And finally Sasuke will attempt a coup on his own but will die at the hand of Itachi, as a result Itachi will gain EMS and awaken Rinnegan and revive his brother because "a person can never change until their death, I've already died once" :l
