If Nagato, prior to his turn, discovered the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Do you think he would go along with it, even if it meant giving his life for peace? I personally think he would find it to be a more solid and ever lasting peace than what he tried, which would just be a wide scale genocide that would occur ever few decades.
