If Minato and Itachi ran the village how successful would it have been?

idk Minato loved to sacrifice himself even though he had a option to survive and Itachi is basically known to toss anything aside and commit genocide for peace.

So Minato would kill himself and Itachi would basically kill everyone else.

Minato has no reason to oppose the Uchiha and knows a lot about them, meaning they'd make pacifistic and educated decisions. The likes of Danzo would still be a large problem and Minato can still be blood-thirsty in battle and prone to violence despite his appearance and friendly demeanour.

Can't see these two conflicting too much, it'd be a good but short-lived rule. Neither one of them are destined to last very long.
