Also if he did add lightning to it what would even be the point? I thought rasengan was suppose to be a blunt attack him adding lightning to it wouldnt do much but make it look cool.

From what I know. No people in NV history able to put other element into their rasengan on their own. Even Naruto need Bijuu help or Sasuke effort.

Raton was Kakashi's strongest nature affinity so there was no point trying with his less potent ones.

Adding ration wouldn't do as much as adding wind,however it would still add a nice shock to the opponent. It wouldn't be useless.

If he couldn't do it with the element that he has his highest affinity for then he definitely couldn't do it with other elements

His affinity was Raiton, thus the only element he ever created jutsu with.

As for its effects...we don't really know, it would probably be something entirely different from Rasenshuriken but equally potent.

Adding Lightning would probably eletrocute everything within a 50 m blast radius
