If Itachi Hadn't Slaughtered The Uchiha Clan, Would Sasuke Have Grown Up To Be Nice?

Even though I hate the "What if's" questions, this is a question I've been pondering on since I was ten years old.

So let's say that the Uchiha clan never decided to start a rebellion and Itachi and Sasuke were free to live out their happy, brotherly days without a care in the world. No one had to be suspected, Shisui was never attacked by Danzo, and Itachi wasn't forced to murder his entire clan and flee the village to join the Akatsuki.

My question is: If Itachi hadn't lied to Sasuke about the massacre, would Sasuke have been a happy and nice child and whatnot? Like if Sakura or Ino or some other chick came up to him, would he have graced them with a heartwarming smile and perhaps even decide to hang out with them on a date or something? Would he not have been so cold-hearted and focused on revenge, instead on friendship and family? Furthermore, what would his goals have been?

Just a random thought - I want to hear what you guys have to say about this.

I think he would have been kind hearted and more of a friend to the others, probably wouldn't have kept to himself as much

nop if he didnt kill the clan

they would do a civil war which would cost so many unnecessary kills

other countries would take the adventage and go payback to konoha what happened in war

konoha would be distroyed

Maybe not 'nice' per-say, but he wouldn't be a complete **** trying to get revenge at every corner he turns for the sake of the Uchiha.

If itachi never kiled the clan, and the uchiha never plotted

then yes, He was always a good nice kid, even when his clan was killed, he was warming up to having a team and friends.. he protected naruto and actually threw his life on the line for him from haku

Yeah obviously but, not intending to flame, the story becomes useless...Sasuke represents all the hatred and darkness in the world (not just in the uchiha) and Naruto represents the light and love in the world. They are destined to battle in the end and change the world.

I think he would be a bit warmer towards other people, but seeing as Itachi wouldn't have felt the need to distain himself from the family, and would therefore still be the favourite child of Fugaku, Sasuke might have grown up resentful towards his father and brother, because Fugaku wouldn't see the need to acknowledge his youngest son.
So Sasuke could still grow up a bit bitter because of his family situation ^^;

I personally think that Sasuke is still the same kind little boy as he was before the Uchiha mazzacre. It's just hidden inside of his heart, but I'm sure Naruto will be able to pull it out.

He would be a cute little boy with a funny voice just like he was when he was younger.
He would leave under the shadow of his brother whom he would antagonize and try to reach up to him and become Anbu.

Still suffering from an inferiority complex but sure, he'd be a nice kid. He wouldn't have the same connection with Naruto though. I wonder how Naruto's life would turn out then, hm.

Do i have to say in it the Neji voice? "Sasuke is in the darkness," from Neji Hyuga. I believe Sasuke could have been someone dedicated to serve his village. Sasuke was a pretty pompous kid when he was young. He only became this serious because he wanted his father to give him the same respect, like he gave Itachi. Plus, the massacre scar'd Sasuke for many years. I believe he is a good person, but just driven in anger that has no remedy. Let's hope that he can change through Itachi. Because he is the reason that Sasuke left the Leaf Village and decided on making his own path.
