If Indra = sasuke = genius why was itachi always better than him?

2) itachi graduated and mastered his sharingan and was anbu captain by the age sasuke was just becoming a genin
3) his dad preferred itachi because of his skills

but indra was sasuke this entire time. maybe he got rusty after so many chakra transfers.

Itachi was older and uncovered his clan secret at an early age, which changed him as a person and made him calculating and reserved, thus greatly aiding him in and outside of combat. Sasuke took a while to hit his stride as a true prodigy due in part to his mental issues. In terms of talent and potential, Sasuke easily surpasses Itachi.

just because you get incarnated as somebody doesnt mean that your are them. they soul may live on in you but i dont think its the same. ashura was said to use support and then he would be at indra's level while hashi was ALWAYS stronger then madara since they were kids stated by the two of them at that time during the flashback of the hokage talking to sasuke.

and all of that was before sasuke got his sharingan so maybe indra wasnt guiding him was just watching him and stuff

Imo, Itachi was just a better genius than Sasuke in both regards - battle prowess and intellect (definitely this one).

Sasuke being called a genius and then being revealed to be the reincarnate of Indra makes Indra look bad, imo.

13 yo Itachi > 13 yo Sasuke
16 yo Itachi > 16 yo Sasuke

In the future, even I'll admit that it seems Sasuke will greatly beat Itachi in the overall power and strength, but, imo, Sasuke will never live up to being a genius in a traditional sense. Itachi will always be the smarter shinobi.

Even then, Itachi has Totsuka and Yata.

Also, the whole "better eyes" argument in Sasuke's favor is bs; there's no such thing as better eyes when it comes to the Sharingan.
