The world is a ****ed up place. Even after itachis sacrifice a war STILL happened and it was bound to happen. He was foolish to think that killing his own family would prevent that. I agree with the op. I would choose MY family and people before the corrupted shinobi world that was bound to start anther war. I understand that he was still a child when making this decision but it was a bad decision. As smart as he is I don't understand why he would think this was a better choice. But that's just me.
