Prime hiruzen being stronger than all the previous kages was stated really early in the series. I bet if kishi had a chance to take back that statement he would.

Old Hiruzen was a fodder, we can't expect much more from "Prime Hiruzen" probably just a bit more
stamina and a bit stronger and faster than his fragile old self, but hardly an impressive kage level shinobi.
