Agreed Sasuke and Naruto were completely overwhelmed by Madara once he actually went about executing his plan and then declared he was done playing games.He never got to use both rinnegan in a fight and everyone knows once you get both eyes you get more power and it was shown through the fact that madaras' unique clones were doubled once he had two eyes.

Even kishi went on record stating he was invincible and was having trouble finding a way to have the good guys win.
