I never took Madara's statement to mean that Hashirama would likely defeat him as he is now, just that Hashirama was the only one who, in Madara's opinion, would stand a chance at all.

think of it like this

hashi is a sleg hammer
and madara is a brick wall a really thick brick wall

and to get to the other uchihas hashi has to get through that brick wall to get to them

if you dont get it it means

while madara might not be able to beat hashi he can stop/block him

now if you involve edo the imagine the brick wall kept repairing itself
sooner or later hashi will tire himself out

I didn't mention anything about what you just wrote. You sound a little butt hurt. Relax. Lol. How many times does madara have to say hashi is that strong for you to believe it. If you can't fathom that then say so. But I think it's a bit presumptuous to say its impossible. ESPECIALLY when talking about a manga where people die and come back to life on the regular
