If Guy and Kakashi were in Akatsuki, where would you rank them?

1 hit k.o?. Not sure about you but when people say 1 hit ko it usually means the opponent either dies or the opponent suffers fatal wounds. Base kisame suffered neither. With samahada he could heal any wounds gai inflicts on him though there was none. When he fuses he gains similar abilities as sm. His durability increases to an extent that i believe if gai used the 7 gates on kisamahada kisame's would still be standing and would have enough left in him to feast on gai, after the side effects of the gates takes its effect on gai. Gai was at his strongest whilst kisame clearly wasnt and gai's strongest still wasnt enough against base kisame. This is enough for me to put kisame above him though he lost.

The only reason Kisame survived was because Guy wanted him to. They needed to interrogate him. If Guy wanted he would have simply finished him off at the moment he was standing over him.

Kisame was generally at his strongest, apart from lacking Samehada, because he sucked Bee's chakra enough to replenish himselft fully. Not only that, the surroundings were also in Kisame's favor.
Also, there is zero indication that fusion with Samehada would make Kisame more durable.

Guy already defeated base Kisame before, without using his full power. Then he defeated Kisame again while being handicapped by surroundings. This generally shows pretty much that Guy>Kisame.

You messed up when you included your own personal ranking of the Akatsuki.

Kisame had enough in him to talk and even smile. He was later retrained by yamato's mokuton which also has the ability to suppress his chakra and yet he stil had more than enough in him to break free. That is enough for me to say, he had enough to stand up especially after the strength feat he demonstrated later, but also he wasnt exactly damaged by gai

How can you say kisame was at his strongest when he clearly isnt. He has had samahada for quiet some time and majority of his abilities is linked to his sword, yet before a fight it was taken away from him and you say he was at his strongest. Kisame was in base, that is a fact. At his strongest is when he fuses with his sword, which is another fact, unless im reading another manga.

All in all bad match up and kishi taking away a swordman's sword, his main ability away from his is what gave gai him win and not because he is actually stronger than kisame

A difference of opinions, I guess. For me, seeing Guy defeat Kisame two times is enough to state he's stronger.

Not when the first time its 30% kisame, who gai struggled with so much that he had to use his nunchucks which neji noted that the opponent mustve been strong but also he went 6 gates against a 30% base kisame . The second time kishi took away kisame's main weapon. It anything the fact that gai was a bad match up for kisame wasnt enough for a solid victory therefore his fighting style which has been stipulated around his sword was taken away from him to make things even more unbalanced and in gai's favour is enough for me to say kishi put everything in gai's favour for a gai win

Why do people put Konan near the bottom or at the bottom? She beat MS Tobi until he used Izanagi.

What I can't stand is people saying "30% Itachi, 30% Kisame". No. This is wrong. These were Itachi and Kisame with 30% of their chakra, nothing less, nothing more. Taijutsu, speed, intelligence... ALL these things were not affected at all. And while Itachi had chakra little enough not to be able to use MS with only 30% of it, Neji noted that even this Kisame had chakra reserves comparable to Naruto.
Kisame was not handicapped with having only 30% of his chakra, because he STILL didn't manage to use it all before he was defeated.

Do you know why it was Kisame who was chosen for Pain's jutsu in the first place? It's because, as Pain stated, Kisame had the biggest chakra reserves, that's why this jutsu would work the best on him.

I hope I made myself clear this time.

Could continue however ive shown you that everytime gai and kisame face off kisame gets trolled one way or another by kishi. Btw speed places a part. Shunshin is a jutsu which requires chakra. With limited chakra, a time would come when you cannot use shunshin to increase your speed. Ill however talk about what you said when you said other factor's do not count however kisame said "so in proportion, our strength and jutsu we can use are limited". This is evident in the fact that he couldnt use other high level ninjutsu's that he has demonstrated later in the series like the Senshokuko or the Dai Bakusui Shoha which he later transformed into the Suiro Sameodori no Jutsu. On that same page, kisame says "it seems that one's finished too", talking about the chakra in the clone and itachi responded by saying "yeah the chakra's cut off".
