Kakashi can't become Akatsuki. Not because he is not strong enough but because he is not the type for Akatsuki. With his chakra levels it would be extremely hard for him to take on Jinchuuriki. He cannot use Kamui because he has to capture them. Guy probably could though because his type of attacks aren't insta-kills and he has good stamina.

Gai is NOT stronger than kisame. Gai beat kisame firstly because he was a bad match up. However this wasnt enough and kishi did something to further make the fight unbalanced. Kisame is a swordsman, he belongs in the seven swords men of the mist. His main abilities are affiliated to his sword yet kishi took away a swordsman sword, which further hindered kisame. Its basically kishi taking an uchiha's sharingan away from them, that is exactly what happened to kisame, but if you look at both of them separately, kisame's abilities are more terrifying than gai's.

With kakashi's recent kamui spam, he has gained ground on some of the members, however 1 technique doesnt mean he is has now surpassed them. My list is;

Not really. Look at their second fight, against 30% chakra Kisame.
In case of Kisame, who had enormous supplies of chakra, it didn't really matter that he had 30% only because he STILL didn't use it all, he was defeated before he could.

And during their last fight, 7-gated Guy basically 1-hit-KOd Kisame and I don't see how Samehada could have helped him in this situation - even fusion and his cool water bubble would do little, because Guy already showed us what he does when he's drowning...

Umm, yeah, that guy underrated Guy, but now you're underrating Kakashi. U_U He should be on Guy's position at least.

Thanks^^ About Gai, you're right. It's just that Deidara is a bad match-up for him, and we've seen that again in their meeting. A Deidaras explosiv clone almost managed to beat all the group if Kakashi didn't decided to kamui it. He is a long range fighter, so a taijutsu figher like Gai would have a lot of problems to deal with him and his explosivs. What could he do against C3 or C4 for example? Kakuzu also is a sort of bad match-up cuz his doton defense protect him from almost every physical attacks(raiton is his weakness), so Gai even in gates would have difficulties to deal with that, especially when he will also have a hard time to counter his jutsus since he would be surrounded by katon, fuuton, raiton techniques.

I believe also that Deidara could beat Kisame. Deidara uses a doton jutsu when Kisame uses Suiton jutsu. Doton>Suiton. Furthermore his waterdome would be also useless since Deidara is a flying fighter. On the other side, we've seen against the Sanbi, that Deidara was able to use his explosiv creations under water, and he managed to capture the Sanbi with only one explosiv bomb. So fighting under water would be a great problem for Kisame, and it's his greatest weapon, since almost all his jutsus are made of water, so he needs it. I also doubt that Samehada could absorb all the explosions especially when we know that it doesn't even like fire

1 hit k.o?. Not sure about you but when people say 1 hit ko it usually means the opponent either dies or the opponent suffers fatal wounds. Base kisame suffered neither. With samahada he could heal any wounds gai inflicts on him though there was none. When he fuses he gains similar abilities as sm. His durability increases to an extent that i believe if gai used the 7 gates on kisamahada kisame's would still be standing and would have enough left in him to feast on gai, after the side effects of the gates takes its effect on gai. Gai was at his strongest whilst kisame clearly wasnt and gai's strongest still wasnt enough against base kisame. This is enough for me to put kisame above him though he lost.
