I'm gonna add this to the OP but after deciding who rules the island how would the new community work?Would that character rule with a iron fist and would he/she have a council of sorts.?

Ninjutsu makes surviving pretty easy on a island. Water style for drinking and bathing, fire style for cooking and staying warm, earth and wood style for building homes and such, lighting style for electricity if they wanted lol. Hell seems ninjas from nw are perfect for being stranded on a island lol.
