I saw a nice supposition by Ninja Killer (in this Thread forums/showthread.php?t=81438&page=12) : "Wat if the gift that itachi gave naruto is the ability to block any1 from from controlling the 9 tailied fox because if u remember from the encounter episode susake was able to go into naruto mind and suppress the 9 tails power.."
So i got really interested with it. *__*
Here is what i think:
Itachi can pass techniques without any1 else realising it unless that technique activates itself, whats more he can make so they activate itselves on a particular person (and maybe a situation what i think). Itachi cared only of 2 things: his brother and konoha. Besides he asked Naruto if he would be abe to stop Sasuke if he attacks konoha (after that he passed him some power). So i think that technique will acivate when naruto fights Sasuke (the acivation type based on person) or it should activate when konoha is about to be destroyed (the acivation type based on situation). But niether of these worked (nor when Pain attacked konoha nor when naruto met sasuke). So that power should activate when Sasuke attacks konoha. So the technique must be something to help Naruto deal with Sasuke's sharingan (since its the most powerful thing in him). The most powerfull things Sasuke can do with Sharingan are amateratsu (ofcourse Itachi new that he was going to pass it to Sasuke in order to protect him from Madara), then controlling kyuubi and genjutsu (and maybe Sousao, but naruto can deal with it using rasenshuriken i thinink
). So technique must be something surpassing amateratsu ( i don't think so ), or something preventing any1 except naruto from controlling kyuubi (Ninja Killer said that but still i don't think thats that), or maybe it would be something that will help naruto release from genjutsu. Since Itachi was a powerfull genjutsu user (his tsukiyomi was the most powerfull existing genjutsu) he must have known how to release from genjutsu as well.
