I'd like your opinion on this.

So. There's this small story. Read through it, and I'll follow it up with a question regarding it which I want you guys to answer. This led to a big classroom debate where I study and I want to know what people online from different places will respond. Anyway, read on.

The question then.

There are five characters in this story. The woman, her husband, her lover, the boatman and the soldier.

Out of all these five, who should be blamed for the woman's death and why?

The woman ofc, she's the one who got herself into that situation.
The lover was just taking advantage.
The soldier was doing his job.
The boatman was trying to make a living.
The husband was innocent.

okay nvm i change to the husband as well. i mean how terrible was he to her that she was willing to throw her life away if she couldnt see the other guy

still in the end she chose to die but he probably had a huge part in the decision

I have a doubt?:yeah:
The woman's husband coming home right? Do he have to cross the same bridge to go home?:yeah:
If yes she could have waited for him and could have gotten into the boat along with him.

Where did the husband go? It was never mentioned in the story.
Maybe their relationship was not that good or some fight may happen between them about his affair with another women. We may never know?:yeah:
And she risked her life not to get caught? He must be a psycho who tortures her everyday. That may be the reason for her foolish decision. Here we can blame on husband.

100$ for crossing the river? I find the boatman a bit over greedy for money.
It may be due to the reason the bridge which ruined his business so he has to hike the price.

Lover - For not being loyal and using her.
But I might be wrong too. Maybe he may not know the fact that the woman was married and felt cheated. Now he's giving her the taste of her own medicine out of revenge.

Soldier- He's just obeying orders. Even if he try he might get killed for disobeying the orders.

But killing a woman is bad. He could have handled or knocked her off easily without killing. But whatever.:elmo:

OT: According to this story the women is to be blamed. Since it's a women we look deep into the story,think for another reasons to prove her innocence and try to find blame on others even though the fault is in the women. Damn my mind is so ****ed up. Thanks for that. :lol
