Yeah, good theory, could also mean that ichigo wasn't really relying on his shinigami powers, which could be another reason why asauchi didn't deem him worthy.

Nimaiya, the one person who first created the asouchi; which were given to other shinigami in order for them to bond and link their souls with them. Ichigo however, was never given a asouchi blade, but still managed to gain a zanpakuto.

The newest chapter proves that Ichigo's zanpakuto has nothing in common with any other zanpakuto in the soul society, as they were all born from asouchi zanpakuto's. Nimaiya stated himself that Ichigo has been fighting all this time without the help of a asouchi zanpakuto, meaning zangetsu wasn't created by Nimaiya in any way. Also, Tensa zangetsu once said that Ichigo was originally him. So in the end, this has given me a question and a theory.

Q: Can Nimaiya even repair Ichigo's zanpakuto when it has no relation to the asouchi zanpakuto?

Theory: The Quincy are able to steal anyone's bankai apart from Ichigo's. This maybe due to the fact that Ichigo's zanpakuto had never started off a a asouchi, unlike all the others who've had their bankai stolen.

Just because Ichigo was never given an Asauchi shouldn't have to do with anything. The invention of the Asauchi likely only made it easier for lower level Shinigami to gradually awaken their zanpaktou. It doesn't mean that Shinigami of sufficient strength couldn't communicate with a part their inner soul (aka zanpaktou) and manifest it in it's entirety in one go. How else would Shinigami have gained their zanpaktou before Ouetsu made his invention?

No, he went mainly to reforge his zanpaktou. Kirinji said the Soul King was intrigued by Ichigo but that's not the reason he went

Na, he was up there to reforge his Zangetsu, and I'm a little disappointed Kubo didn't use this chance to bring back Zangetsu as now the whole trip to the royal palace seems a little of a waste, as Renji isn't really that special and now questions we've been wondering aren't going to get answered such as what the Soul king is (Since I don't see him meeting Renji) or why the Soul king is interested.


OT: I hope Zangestu goes back to the form Ichigo had combined with the form he had with Dangai that would look badass, however realistically due to being part Quincy it'll be something horrible looking like when Ichigo used those Reishi blades in the shape of Zangetsu (I hope not)

Personally I think all Kubo has to do is have Ichigo train in using Blutz as I don't think anyone want's Ichigo using Quincy weaponry.

Ichigo+Bankai(speed+power)+Blutz(Defense) = The ultimate battle requirements.

He probably did it unconsciously with his quincy reishi manipulation, but since he had shinigami powers, he used the reishi in his soul, therefore, Zangetsu is a real extension of his soul, unlike other Shinigami who use Asauchi and pour only the essence of their soul into it.

But the Hollow and zangetsu where the extensions of Ichigos Own soul.


When they disappeared - a Part of Ichigos own soul was also lost.


Ichigo needs to find something that can fill this cap.

If Ichigo where to learn Reishi Manipulation.


Then Ichigo could easily reconstruct that lost part of hes soul.


And awaken zangetsu and hollow power once again.

I think asauchi is not something they bond with in order to gain a soul slayer rather asauchi are mediums that help shiningami to be able to unlock their soul slayer names. I mean the asauchi can become anything and they just become a medium where the shiningami soul slayer resides in.

For example Hitsugaya, he was shown to communicate with hyorimaru but he never had a soul slayer. However once he got ahold to an asauchi he then was a ble to awake hyorimaru

Opinions?

You can't reconstruct a soul just by manipulating reishi. It isn't that simple. Look at Kirio. She was the creator of artificial souls and looks where that got her: acknowledgement from the Soul King and a spot in the Royal Guard.
