I apologise in advance if this question has been repeated, but I can't seem to find a definate answer to this question:

-Why- did Ichigo result in using the Final Getsuga Tenshou?

Clearly he was demolishing Aizen in his pre-final state with ease. I can't find a coherent reason for why Ichigo would suddenly throw away his Shinigami powers in an attempt to do something he could have done outside of the technique; aside from the speculation that Ichigo didn't believe he was powerful enough to defeat Aizen if he left him to go through all the stages of transformation-- even then, why not just wait it out? There was nothing heavy to support that theory and he didn't even try and test it, not even briefly touching on his Visored abilities.

Besides, watching Aizen go through all the stages would have been pretty awesome in my opinion, and having Ichigo find a reason to discard his abilities when things began to look bleak would have seemed a better conclusion...

Anyone else able to shine some light in my eyes?
Thanks. :3

i stoped reading midway through the aizen fight. the whole series got too soap opera-y. and always repeating the same thing. orihime captured, ichigo goes to save gets ass kicked gains new powers wins. enter aizen. fight. lather. rince. reapeat.

I wish I could, but I never understood it either. Ichi wasn't having any real problems with the fight...and he suddenly unleashes that gambit, in spite of the fact that he know's it'll drain him. It actually felt like it was supposed to be the end of the series, but even with that in mind, it didn't make any sense. The only excuse I can think of is that he had to be in pretty good shape to use it.

The only other thing I can think of is that something kind of important was lost in translation.

I think Kubo brought that in to the plot so that Ichigo will lose his powers, the fans were getting too impatient with Ichigo his character and power, I personally hated how he goes Bankai like every freaking battle, so Kubo must have wanted to reinvent Kurosaki Ichigo the Shinigami with new powers and ability, hence the new arc with all this potential new powers from non spiritual beings who wants there powers to be absorbed !!!

Given the current information we have this is a plausible theory don't you think??
