As it has been suggested that Ichigo can never return to the world of the living or even soul society and he would be miserable working as an odd job man the rest of his life, what do you think he fate will be?

It's obvious that he wont be marrying someone horribly incompatible with him with a personality so stereotyped that there name appears in the dictionary under the definition, like some mangas, and pushing out babies for some sequel that is a wonky shadow of its parent manga, that was horribly manipulated for commercialism =D.

So what awaits the orange haired anti hero

Become Soul King? - After seeing the soul king, I hope not, life as doll in a bubble is no life at all

Head of the Royal Squad? - But then who will be soul king?

Head Captain? - Others are better suited, can't imagine Ichigo taking on all that paper work

Death? - Its a shonen, Shuisha would lynch Kubo

So what then?

.....The villain wont win, in fact I doubt Yhwach will even be the final villain but thats another discussion. Ichigo will defeat the main villain, the questions is, what then? Sacrifice himself and become the soul king?

Unless Ichigo loses the hollow inside of him altogether, he could become the King of Heuco Meundo xD I highly doubt that though. He will probably lead some sort of factions of hollow type fighter, Vizards, Arrancars. Especially since I bet we'll find out that he is an Arrancar of some sort. As the Black hollow inside of him WAS one of Aizens experiments. Who knows, Aizen could become Soul King and Ichigo will be his right hand xD

Main characters don't get killed off in shonen, at least it is extraordinarily rare, Shuisha would lynch him and loosing his powers is what happened at the end of the last arc, even Kubo's not that bad.
