I think ichigo is the king everyone was talking about when orichime was kidnapped.....I mean he is the king of both the soul society and the hollow world(Hueca munda.....something like that)..........you noticed when ichigo was fighting to be a shinigami with himself.....the white hollow inside with white zangetsu (i think that form is the ultimate form of ichigo)....said that he is the king of the world......

Kenpachi is no where near the level required to be the head of the Gotei 13.

If it has to be passed onto anyone it would be either Unohana or one of Yamamoto's own students, Ukitake and Kyoraku.
