Like in our world, after the 2nd world war, technologies grew like never before.
There were huge computers in Naruto before the war, now that the 5 kages are in peace they can share their technologies, making skyscatters, phones and laptops.
You know they are ninjas, we took 20 years to go from a huge stupid computer to a tiny but very smart personnal computer, I'm not impressed that ninjas did it in few years.

uhm if u notice, during the death forest, they already have big screen tv and camera in entire forest.

How was technology for us when Naruto started ? They have to catter to a new generation which in fact doesn't make me want to read the new manga.

This is such a very stupid reason to not read the new manga. "Oh yeah, gonna see Naruto interact with his new family and handle the responsibilities of being Hokage and see Sasuke doing his badass lone ranger thing and see how everyone have progressed as nin-IS THAT A COMPUTER? EVERYTHING IS RUINED, THE IMAGE OF A COMPUTER HAS RUINED ANY ENJOYMENT FROM THIS AGHAHGATU[HG"

I'm not a big fan of the city they've built. Were there really so many new residents in Konoha so that they had to? And it kind of goes against the hidden village concept. Not to mention potential ecology problems.
Should have stuck with building smaller houses. I really doubt they could have had a sudden surge in population in less than a decade.

Time is moving forward. Did you expect them not to advance? It's inevitable for humanity to make new developments to make life more convenient and exciting. Those crusty ol' wooden buildings were probably falling apart (Actually not true, considering Yamato rebuild Konoha, so it's probably only about 12 years old, rather than over 100.)
