that tests luffy's qualifications to captian.
I mean all the other mugiwara are in the position they are because they do what they do good. But I would like to see an arc where luffy has to prove himself to be a worthy captain and maybe not fight a physical fight having the main opponent being physcological or something. I do love a good "mess with your head cause I am right" type of villian.

That already happened with Rob Lucci really. It was when Lucci flooded the tunnels and Luffy knew if he left to save them, Lucci would find them first and kill them. IIRC, Lucci commended his captain skills at that moment.

if u wanna see Luffy resolve a situation by using his smarts.. ur gonna be waiting quite a while LoL.
Luffy's still a good captain though, and he has those around him who can make good plans and decide what to do in tough situations. aside from being very strong, he is absolutely dependable, he has a strength of will not seen in normal people, and he would do ANYTHING to save his friends. He has an ability to help and to do the right thing, and if u ask me, these qualities that he DOES have (as opposed to some qualities he does NOT have) have allowed him to become a good captain/leader.

just don't ask him to read a scientific book or multiply numbers in his head or to play chess. LoL.

No but that was a conflict resolved by fighting. I want Lucci to get inside luffy's head. To mess with him. to try to break him.
Like the joker does to batman.
I want story where luffy cannot fight he has to think.
Some heavy decision he has to make that gives him the right to be their captain.

Like the Joker does to batman.
Good Point though.

That is completely outside of Luffy's character. Besides, Luffy did have to think when it came to Lucci. He also had to think to make the decision to take the training session during the timeskip.

It doesn't have to be a high level of thought heart a seriously grave decision he has to make with then main antagonist being completely intangible... like the Cheshire cat someone you never see fighting but trends to get in your head

Like an arc where luffy is just seeing something that no one else knows but the villian isnt named and the whole arc is him trying to prove he's not crazy while the whole crew is being tested in their job and as expected they all pass with flying colors but puffy can't prove himself as captain or not crazy

Id like to see who he handles it cause people that get in his head are the worst opponents for him... maybe a sub arc like long long ring island

Yeah it's pretty late for that one. I want an arc where the SH's aren't the main focus/hero of the arc. Maybe a revolutionary arc?

That would be cool too but how is it too late?
Nvm... I was wrong now that I think about it, sorry. It would be a good moment, seeing how we always see the SH's loyalty/fate in their captain.
Not a whole with just the revs. I'd like to see one where the SHs are in it and the revs.
Well ofc the SH's or at least Luffy has to be involved. I just want an arc where the rev.'s play a bigger role than the SH's.

I honestly feel like Dressrosa is kind of like an arc like that. The spotlights/highlights of this arc have definitely been Law, Corazon and Doflamingo.
True. It does seem like Luffy is going to beat Doflamingo (not by himself) but I'd rather have Law be the one to defeat him.

I personally feel like it'd be better justice if Law was the one to deal the defeating blow to Doflamingo. It means a lot more to him than it does to Luffy.
