I wonder if the Sannin did the same thing against Hanzo

We find out in this chapter that Sakura is no more than a diversion (an irrelevant diversion I must say).

I'm starting to wonder if Tsunade was also just the "diversion" when it came to fighting Hanzo, leaving Orochimaru and Jiraiya going on the offense.

I don't think so. She had no Byakugou seal at that point of the manga. Not to mention according to Orochimaru, she once was a front line fighter. This means she wasn't always a medical ninja.

Tsunade didn't have Byakugo at the time. And it's irrelevant to even compare them, Hanzo is a much much weaker opponent than Juudara.
