I was thinking about Jiraiya, and how he will probably come back.

There have been many threads about how kabuto is going to bring back Jiraiya with edo tensei, since he knows the edo tensei and naruto is his enemy, but now that the tide is changing, I have had an interesting thought. since kabuto is getting his ass handed to him by itachi, I highly doubt he will be able to summon edo Jiraiya... the only possible thing that can revive him is his arm, which was being held by one of the Six Paths... Since this arm was in the hands of an akatsuki, and the leader of the akastuki is tobi, there is a chance he could have gotten it and hidden it in his own lab. Tobi also knows the jutsu/ritual of edo tensei as kabuto showed it to him... you guys have an idea what I'm getting at now? Yeah, well. Since Tobi is getting his ass handed to him by naruto, what if tobi summons edo tensei Jiraiya? It would certainly become a twist in the plot as naruto maybe couldn't be able to attack him because of some emotional attack or surprise and Naruto could be stuck in fear? Similar to the way Sai failed to attack his own brother.

Welcome! Sad thread though I would have to punch trees to regain my manilness after crying if this happens! Another way for Kabuto if somehow he gets out of it to summons Jiraiya is that he could of collected blood off the rod of peins, but I dunno

Disagree. There's nothing to suggest Jiraiya's arm was retained. If it had been, Kabuto likely would've gotten his skeevy hands on it. Furthermore, if Tobi had a hold of it, he likely would have given it to Kabuto to augment the army. He would not have retained Jiraiya as a trump card against Naruto, because until they met on the battlefield and Naruto started deflecting tailed beast bombs, Tobi didn't consider him a threat. Welcome to the base!

Kinda what i was getting at, maybe tobi will do the same thing kabuto did with muu and talk to naruto as if its jiraiya talking some BS about how maybe "peace is not possible" or "you suck naruto" or "you're nothing but a mistake" and taunting him that way... tobi is a master of sorcery so he'll figure something out for sure

really if tobi wanted he could have kidnaped hinata and sakura im pretty sure its easier than performing edo tensei

Why would would either of the two want to revive Jiraiya? He wasn't a weak character but to say he would actually make an impact on the war ... He would have to have the help of Pa and Ma to even present a danger and let's face it, they are not going to help a freaking corpse.
Plus I really doubt it would impact Naruto that much that it would bring his fighting in danger. Yes, he will probably be shocked to see his old mentor back, but he also realizes that his mentor is dead. And that it is the best to seal him away.
And why would they keep Jiraiya hidden until the last minute? They started the war by bringing out the Edo Tensei because that would give them a slight advantage towards the other side. If Jiraiya had been brought back as Edo Tensei, he would have already shown up in the war.
Sorry, I just can't understand why it would be useful to bring Jiraiya back.
