On topic: It doesn't really make much sense what you're saying. You want to go on a date but be nothing more than friends? That doesn't make any sense at all. Just ask if she wants to go out with you if she doesn't has other plans, just like you would do when you would go out with your other friends.

You laid so much emphasis on the date part that it almost seems to me that you like her and in that case you just should ask her. If not I don't see any problem.

Going out with friends of the other gender is completely normal.

well its easier said than done ..... 90% of the people (boys or girls ) are afraid to thell someone that they love him/her because they think : " if i cant be with her at least we should not ruin our friendship or something " ....well i had something like this a month ago but when i asked her out she slapped me and told me " WHY THE F*** DIDNT YOU ASKED ME EARLYER" ... btw im still with that girl

I was recently in the same position. Just ask her out, and if she say's she can't she cant, no big deal. Or try to win her over..... nah, jk. but ya gotta make a move or the win will be taken man.
