I know I only gave examples from Cartoons, but the point remains. Why do they want to destroy the world? Earth is the only planet that current supports life and destroying it is pointless...isn't it?

Well...destroying the world is something extremely immoral. The human society is filled with that kind of morals and when such a moral is broken people freak out.

So in a certain why it's a bit of curiosity, to know what exactly happens the more and the heavier you break such a morals.

Compare it to little kids who do stuff to see what could happen. It's pretty much the same.

Most of the time they want to take over, control or conquer the world. We've had people like that in our own history, Alexander the great, Hitler.

If destroying the world than that would most likely be ******* aliens who have a home of their own or something. Or a monster that doesn't give a eff if he'll die as long as he takes the world with it.

A lot of times if in a movie/cartoon/whatever a villain explains why he wants to destroy the world it's either because he's nihilistic, or some twisted set of morals which makes him view humanity as evil and in need of destruction.
