Basic Information
Name: Katniss Everdeen
Nickname: The Mockingjay, The Girl on Fire
Gender:
Age: 17
Clan: Steel
Appearance:
Katniss has straight long black hair, which she normally pulls back into a long braid. She is olive skinned, and has gray eyes. She is small in stature (5"7) and thin for her age as she was generally malnourished because of her families financial situation whilst she was growing up, but due to her outdoor life, she is strong for her size. Katniss is not very image-conscious and often has many minor scrapes and cuts on her body due to her highly active lifestyle.
Her outward appearance is very much imperfect and Katniss is often seen wearing worn-out clothes with hunting boots, which she sometimes pairs with her father's hunting coat. To complete her look Katniss wears a golden Mockingjay pin over her chest, a pin which she will go nowhere without.
Personality:
Katniss is a very strong and independent girl with great survivalist instincts due to her difficult past, she is also a very good thinker, often known to think outside the box. She is not socially adept and has a hard time making friends due to the emotional strain on her life which has made her hard and cold. She is more concerned about feeding her family than being social, making her awkward around people. Though Katniss can be blunt and cold she has a very vulnerable side which she only shows around her family, and she has a natural maternal instinct with her younger sister Primrose. She is usually very logical except for times when her emotions get in the way.
Katniss has a habit of biting her nails when she is nervous or anxious and must consciously stop herself from doing so when around others.
Katniss is very strong, stubborn and determined. Often, she will react first and ask questions later. She will do anything to survive. Katniss largely does what she wants to do and ignores instruction from others and breaks from an everyday routine, her unwillingness to take orders is often perceived as her greatest weakness.
Even though she can sometimes be self-centered and self-reliant, she does have noble traits, protecting those she loves. For example, caring for Prim, looking out for her allies, ending opponents lives mercifully and quickly not allowing them to suffer, regardless of the pain that they have caused her. Katniss has a natural instinct to protect those who are weak and unable to fend for themselves.
Unlike her younger sister, she is not a natural born healer. She once ran from the house in fright while Prim and her mother cared for a dying man. Instead, she is more like her father, being skilled at hunting and gathering.
Her favorite color is green and her favorite food is lamb stew with dried plums.

Background Information
History: (Spoilers Alert.)
History: (Spoilers Alert.)
Katniss Everdeen was born on the 8th of May in a village on the outskirts of Iwagakure. Katniss was close to her father and spent time hunting with him in the woods. There, he taught her about hunting, nature, the elements and how to use a bow and arrow. Katniss' father also taught her how to swim in a pond in the woods. When she was 11 years old, her father died in a mine explosion whilst on a mission, leaving her to take care of her mentally fragile mother and younger sister Primrose. Katniss still has nightmares about the explosion and the day her father died.
For years she'd wake up screaming for him to run and wondering if he would ever come back to her. She resents her mother for succumbing to the depression caused by her husband's death, which left her unable to care for Katniss and her sister.
Iwagakure gave a small amount of help to Katniss's family, but when her mother decided not to get a job, Katniss was thrust into the role of provider and nurturer. She took on this role to avoid allowing her mother to be deemed unfit to care for them, which would send herself and Prim to a community home. A fate she could not allow her sister to succumb too. Her love for her sister far outweighing anything else in her life. Primrose didn't understand what had happened to her mother, and still cared for her like a daughter should her mother.
A few weeks before Katniss' 12th birthday, her family was already starving and she had succumbed to picking from trash cans. One night when it was raining, she was yelled at by the Baker's wife for looking in their trash can, even though it was empty. Seeing this, the Baker's son, burned two loaves of bread, earning him a beating from his mother. When he went outside to feed the burnt loaves to the pigs, he tossed them to Katniss instead and hurried back inside. This was the first time anyone had shown Katniss an act of kindness and she did not know how to take it at first.
The following day at her ninja academy, whilst undergoing a private training session with her teacher Oraan, Katniss caught the Bakers son watching her and quickly dropped her gaze, which landed on the first dandelion of the year. The sight of the dandelion made her think of the hours spent in the woods with her father, and she started utilizing the skills her father had taught her to find food and trade. She increased her hunting and foraging skills and sold the food in the village, this is how she made most of her living. Katniss could never shake the connection between the bakers son, the bread that gave her hope, and the dandelion that reminded her that she was not doomed.
During her period of hunting alone, when Katniss was twelve, she met a man after stumbling across his snares, which had caught a rabbit. At first, he thought that she was going to steal the snares, but after initial coldness, the two became hunting partners and shared their knowledge with one another; Katniss sharing her fathers knowledge of herbs and other plant-life, as well as archery and in return he trained her.
Together, the two traded there catches in Iwa. The trust between him and Katniss grew to a point where they became extremely close friends and knew each other in and out. They became well known in small villages outside of Iwagakure's main gates for selling freshly hunted meat and wild fruits to everyone.
This life continued like sorts until one day during her sixteenth year Katniss was called upon by the higher-ups in her village and was placed on an extensive training regime in which she was placed in a superficial arena with 23 other trainee ninja varying in rank from Genin to Jounin one of whom was the baker's son from her village. The purpose of this exercise was to determine which of the up-coming ninja in the village was the strongest. Inside this 'arena' of sorts Katniss and her fellow selected were made to fight each other until only one was left alive, the winner would then go on to become one of the villages most trusted teachers personal students, as well as this, their families receiving a healthy living allowance for the rest of the chosen childs lives.
As she arrived in the arena Katniss looked around herself and took in the surroundings, she felt comfortable... as comfortable as it was possible to feel considering the impending doom that was coming to her. This an assumption she had made as she felt sure that she would not return from this exercise victorious. The arena was a forest, this suited her down to the ground seeing as she had grown up sitting in the trees and hunting with her father and friend. Alone for days with her bow Katniss remained in trees making sure only to move when she was sure there was nobody around. Every night she would camp out on a large tree branch and look into the sky to listen for more cannons, the cannons were shot into the arena at nights to indicate how many ninja had been defeated and removed during the previous day. She didn't know why, but ever night she looked into the sky and didn't see his face, she felt relieved. She knew she shouldn't have, there was no room for feelings in this place, she knew what would have to happen eventually, but the thought of the boy stuck with her through it all.
Unable to hide forever she knew eventually that she would have to take the fight into her own hands, swiftly she moved through the undergrowth that surrounded her stopping occasionally to search around her with eyes and ears to hunt out her fellow 'tributes'. After a few hours on foot Katniss came across a lake, here she decided to make her new camp. Refreshed and raring to go Katniss prepared to move, as she stood however she felt an unnerving sensation shoot down her spine and through the rest of her body, looking around she saw nothing but leaves and sky, not trusting the serene calming world that surrounded her she listened intently for sounds of enemies encroaching on her position. It was at that moment that she heard it, the cry of pain that sent her mind into action. The cry though muffled by the vast forest that surrounded her was most definitely close, closer than Katniss was ready for, she headed then off into the trees to her left and began to work her way to the epicenter of the scream she had heard. After only one minute of searching a searing heat began emanating from her left, the blistering heat scolded her skin and relinquished her of body fluids at alarming rates. The flames that had found there way to her were spreading through the forest around her quicker than she could move, unable to think clearly in the raging heat that now destroys everything in her view Katniss knows she must get to the water source she had previously held camp. Running still from the flames Katniss has no idea of her bearing or where she now is in regard to returning to the lake for a drink. The only thing now existing in her head are the repeating words, the promise that she had made to her sister that she would win, dying now, in these flames, that would not be a win and therefore she knows that she cannot give up, not now. Not ever.
Just as her head begins to cloud over from the inhalation of the vast amounts of black smoke that now rises from her once calming, safe feeling forest she misses the hard ground with her foot, not because she has collapsed, but because there is no hard ground there for her to place her foot, instead there is water, the satisfaction that crosses Katniss' face at that moment is unlike anything she has ever felt before, without even a seconds thought Katniss has used this water source in order to cover the trees around her in liquid and extinguish the flames that threatened her so bluntly just a few minutes earlier.
That night the cannons that sound signal that she remains alive with just two others, she believes it safe to assume that the majority of the deaths that day had come as a result of the mass forest fire that she had needed so desperately to escape. Tying herself down onto the crisp black branch that she had chosen to use as her bed for the night she closes her eyes, though only briefly, she hears the sound of footsteps crunching through the layers of cinders that now cover the greens and browns of the leaves which layered the floor during the previous day. As she looks down over the side of the tree in which she rests she can make out the very feint silhouette of a man below her searching around for her, she knows that she must act now and removes her trusty bow from her side as she releases the rope from around her waist. Letting her legs drop slowly from the branch Katniss steadies herself and pulls back the string of her bow as she loads it with a glistening silver arrow which she had pulled from it's quiver previously. As the gentle breeze brushes through her hair Katniss pulls the bowstring back to meet her lips, she steadies her breathing and takes in the textures of the weight at the end of her arrow as the feather which balances it out brushes forward through her fingers, before she even has a chance to think about her decision the arrow is away and her bowstring is echoing the familiar twang through her mind. The sound which comes next is not as familiar or as comforting to her however. The sound of her victims body hitting the ground as the arrow plunges deep into his brain as it drives straight through his eye, even in this darkness Katniss' aim is impeccable, this is not however the sound that startles her, the sound of the limp body hitting the ground is far too familiar to unnerve a skilled hunter, the sound that puts Katniss on edge is the cry she hears as the body collapses into a limp heap on the ground, the voice of another tribute that Katniss hadn't seen before, she spins 180 degrees and now stares into the wide eyed boy before her. The Baker's son stares back up into the branches where Katniss sits. Another string already rests it the bowstring, a faint hum of electricity emanating from it's tip as she channels lightning chakra into her arrowhead. Her stance is right, and her eyes a locked, but her mind is wrong. The boy stands with a handseal formed, the rest of his body shakes, dried blood stains his otherwise sunny blonde hair and even in the cover of the night, his blue eyes sparkle. The hum of electricity stops, and her bow drops to the earth, followed shortly by her body. They embrace in a hug and cry.
The moment is brief and surrounded in wrongness, but the two feel right. Then the boy let's go and reaches into his pocket. He draws a handful of purple berries, holding them out to her. Without even a word, she knows what he wants... And she agrees. With a nod, they tilt their heads back, and bring their hands ot their mouths. But before the darkness becomes permanent, the sky opens up and the brightest of lights pierces down through the trees. The berries dissipate under a sudden intense heat, and the two faint.
It is when Katniss wakes up that realises what had happened. She had been victorious. Crowned the lone victor. The boy killed for breaking the rules and defying the system, in horror Katniss accepts her prize and in front of the villages higher ups she keeps a straight face. However, when she is returned to her home Katniss is unable to forget the torture she had been put through, and forced to put others through. Unwilling to forgive the people of her village she takes her leave, moving her family to a new village in the middle of nowhere. Her new village was never home, but it also wasn't painted with his face. She went on, staying strong for her family and forcing herself to live through the pain.
Unaware of the villages annoyance at her leave, Katniss' life grew into a new rhythm. Behind her, a search went on. The village were hunting her, unwilling to let a girl defeat them. They took her leave as a sign of defiance and sent out a search party to hunt her down. The enraged village higher-ups sent out strong ninja with one goal... To make Katniss understand, betrayal, revolution was not an option. There rules were not optional.
Returning home from the hunt one day Katniss came upon her home. The usual grey smoke rose from the chimney and she could smell her mothers particularly average cooking. The cat came running from the door to see her, this was the first sign something was wrong. The cat hated Katniss and would quite frankly have been gone a long time ago if she had her way. Her sister loved it however, so Katniss knew she couldn't touch it, and the cat knew it too. She dropped the rabbit she had caught and ran. That is until the shrill voice called her name, at that point the run became something far more desperate.
She barged through the door. And screamed her sisters name.
The room fell silent.
Katniss stayed on her knees that whole night, unable to look up at the chaos that lied in front of her. All around her was blood, yet she wanted more. She had a new purpose... Revenge. She needed help, and would spread her word across the world until eventually she could return the pain they had caused her. And so, she left her sister in the ground and left, headed for Kirigakure.
She wished she had found Kirigakure earlier. She found people who understood her and morales that she accepted, even made some friends. It was on her first day in the village that she saw the woman, unknowing at the time how close they would eventually come. The bright red hair was unmissable, even through the dense mist that lingered in the air permanently. A fact that Katniss loved, feeling it allowed her to easily be herself without people learning too much too soon. The girls glance was swift but purposeful, her expression was strong but decorated with beauty. And the note she had left in Katniss' room, was surprising. Somehow, the woman had worked out which room would be Katniss' before she had even been assigned one. And she had known that she would like her before they had even met. With a time and place set, the pair met the following day, and from there the relationship blossomed. The woman made Katniss feel like Prim, and in their time together managed to fill the hole that Prim had left just enough for Katniss to smile. Not only did they grow into friends, but the girl, now known to be Lili adopted Katniss as her student, teaching her the ways of perfume as well as enhancing her already great skills with genjutsu and the five elemental natures.
Through her training, Katniss gained not only strength, but personality and presence. She became known in the village and began to gain respect from all levels of member. She grew from member, to valuable member, to general and now... To Mizukage. She had become the symbol that she longed to be, the symbol of revolution.
She had become...

Katniss is a highly skilled archer and hunter and takes her bow with her to every battle along with a quiver full of numerous different coloured steel arrows. Instead of merely tagging her arrows for added effects, Katniss has hers specially made with the tag built into the arrow shaft and the arrow shaft being coloured for symbolism. The result is an assortment of different coloured arrows, each with different possibilities. These are as follows:
Red = Paper Bomb Kunai.
Pitch Black = Smoke Bomb Kunai
Yellow = Flash Bomb Kunai
Perfume Release: Being taught perfume release during the time she spent with Liliana, Katniss became a proficient user and like any other practitioner of the release developed her own form of the release. Her personal perfume is scented with the one thing that would forever resonate in her heart. Flowers, and more specifically... Primrose. Once the wonderful radiance of the springtime plants fades, a warming barbecue can been faintly picked up by the nostril... A bonfire on a cold winters night. The final product is a perfectly crafted scent with an overlying feeling of love and warmth.
Perfume Pouch: As well as all her ordinary tools, Katniss carries several small vials of Main Release Perfume with her wherever she goes. (Like a perfume bottle you'd buy in shops)
She added fishing and trapping to her skills later on. She also had to educate herself on the edible, medicinal, and poisonous plant life of the ninja world and hunting and gathering on a daily basis has given her a highly skilled sense of woodcraft.
Katniss is also a skilled tree-climber, which has benefited her training. Additionally, she has a good singing voice, also inherited from her father, although she is reluctant to sing since his death.
As well as her bow Katniss carries a small blade with her to battles, the knife is slightly longer than a Kunai and is concealed within a compartment on her right boot ready for use should she need it.
