I understand why Kiski gave Sasue the same power-up as Naruto . In future , should the Naruto vs Sasuke battle occur , then it's logical that both be equal in order to have a full on , all out battle!

This basically. Hogoromo did mention that his mother was revered as a goddess at first but as time went on too much power corrupted her and she came to be feared as a demon. Same happened when he entrusted too much too Ashura. Indra became jealous starting this age long fued that has spanned throughout the generations.

He is spreading his power evenly through both Naruto and Sasuke to correct passed mistakes and not allowing one to become stronger than the other to create balance and end this cycle. Seems legit.
