Some very important gaming company just finished a research and the proved that gamers skills have been decreasing with with time. It seems like new games are making slower & dumber players. They took a small group of pro-gamers and put them to play Super Metroid (yeah, the old one!!!) and the game ate them alive. The results: gamers today are 32 % crappier than in those days!!! Now you stay hidden behind a wall and your life recovers in justa few seconds...try to pull that trick the Contra way!!!! What do you think, dumber now or not, miss the old times?

Well all people do in DBZ and Naruto is jsut spam, spam, spam.. of course we suck now. Even in COD or GoW a lot of the times players just shoot randomly and luckily get a kill.

The older games were better and challenging, nowdays the companies make games for multiplayers etc which are still better off than single player ones , Counter strike was a huge success because it showcased individual skillls of a large community of players who had a lot of expertise and skill . But these new games are becoming easier to play when the computer is the enemy .:O

Too little of a sample to judge. It has nothing to do with the gamers skill, but with what they're adapted to. For example; A pro-COD player picks up Metroid prime and gets destroyed.. Answer? He's accustomed to the Call of Duty mechanics and the Metroid mechanics are far different. A lot of people are good at both types of games, so this "survey" is irrelevant.

So what basically what you're trying to say is that you're not agree with those results? How old are u and how much do you know/have u played old games? Despite game mechanics, games are far easier now than back then times ten, ergo players suck. Any COD pro-gamer would get spanked by any 007 or Unreal Tournament pro-gamer from those days!

This. It's about being adaptive to other games.Lets someone played a bunch of different games and someone else played the same game everyday. I'd be willing to bet the person who played many different would have the advantage if I told them to play each other in a entirely different game. It's not a matter of gaming skill per se because I'm sure anyone can become skilled in a game if they play it long enough.

might be true, because back then the only thing that could keep you entertained was:

jump, up, down, forward, back and this bullshit... story line? open world? graphics? effects? enjoy environment ? etc

NOTHING

games now are DEEP, and if you play on hard, it's HARD enough no need to flip out over every fight you lose. Play Multiplayer and enjoy it on every level you want if it's not challenging enough. Who ever did this research is idiot literally!

games = entertainment

So long story short: fancy graphics equal better games???? Sorry but i think that the ppl who did that research ain't the stupid ones! I could name a lot of games with far more storyline that any game made recently, and that's because graphics and extra effects don't have a thing to do with storyline or game originality. Is like selling our souls for graphics and fancy lights but...hey where da' hell are our skills?
Those games you call 'jump up, down, back and forth and shit' were (and still are) legends and a lot of us have good memories of them. And yes: you could complete the COD saga in the same time you'd spend trying to beat the old Doom!!!!
