Let me explain.
People cry about their political views not being represented on facebook and twitter but honestly I think this is missing the real conundrum and the complaints are really dumb.
People who run these companies are not Gods or robots they are people like you and me and they have opinions like everyone does.
So it's their right to determine who they will allow on their platform and who they will not.
I don't hear people complaining that sites that does illegal streaming and piracy are not found by google.
Google doens't include these sites in it's search algorithms and they have every right to neglect pirates representation even if there are people who thinks all piracy should be legal.
These people that whine about them not being represented on big tech companies fail to realize the impact they have on people, the real conundrum the tech companies face and also they usually have their own platforms that ONLY spins their own narrative.
People can call it truth or whatever it doesn't matter if facts are used to make a point you happen to have, then it's personal and potential propaganda.
If tech companies allowes everyone from the inllectual dark web to be heard then they are gonna get complaints from other political opponents and THEY will be faced with the consequenses, I'm sure plenty of journalsits still lives in 1999 and believes mainstream media outlets are the big powerhouses of information nowadays but this is a lie.
Social media has HUGE impacts on people, independant small outlets that resonates with people ARE WAY more popular than CNN or BBC.
Whether ads or stories are fake or not, that's besides the point they impact people alot if shown on facebook. This has been proven to change elections because people are so easily influenced psychologically by what shows up in their feed.
If people reallly want to seek certain groups they can do so, they don't need facebook to tell them what to think.
Facebook has every right to discriminate nazis or even people they just think are controversial if they want too, because they are the ones responsible for their platform, not the producers of that content.
Personally I believe there should be representation of all political spectrums on social medai platforms, if I ran google I would allow the far right to have their space and I dont believe they are nazis btw.
But if current Google doesn't want to deal with the heat that for example Twitter elected Trump president I understand that. Amen.
