IMO Sasuke doesn't have anything to do with it, Obito is the one that represents the older son. Everyone just assumed the toads prophecy related to Sasuke but at that time we didn't really know much about Obito. With that said Kishi heavily portrays Naruto and Obito as polar opposites and they have mirrored each other continuously in the war.

Between Naruto and Obito they represent everything about the sage. Look at it this way:

• Juubi Host - covered by Obito and to an extent Naruto
• Rinnegan - covered by Obito
• Sharingan of the eldest son - Covered by Obito
• Ideals of the eldest son - covered by Obito
• Strong vitality of the younger son - covered by Naruto
• Ideals of the younger son - Covered by Naruto
• Relationship with the Bijuu - covered Naruto

So between them they embody pretty much everything we know about the sage. Sasuke doesn't really add anything to the whole reincarnation thing. Besides Sasuke's mindset is to unstable to be pinned to a certain role, Obito is much more defined.

Well what you are talking about is called Yin-Yang philosophy...It has nothing to do with Sasuke+Naruto=SO6P....

Using that logic Naruto and Sasuke should have been born at exactly the same time, yet Sasuke was born 4 months before Naruto. I think your taking it to literally anyway since the 'god splitting' reference makes more sense if it relates to his two son's who's ideals were the opposite i.e. represented yin-yang. How do you know the older son wasn't 15 years older then younger.

The sages two son's combined represent the sage (they are his sons), whereas Naruto represents the younger and Obito the older. As i said sasuke doesn't share these parallels and his ideals are to unstable to portray them anyway.
